EcoArt International - Bijoux Parade

EcoArt International - Bijoux Parade
August 20th | Singapore

M.C.L Design is excited to partner with environmental organization EcoArt International based in the Principality of Monaco. In its efforts to promote environmental awareness under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the EcoArt International mission is to provide humanitarian aid and funding where it is needed using an artistic and creative channel. Protecting our ecosystem is a mission that M.C.L Design feels very passionately about as preservation of our environment is vital to our future generations.

As a biennale roadshow exhibition, EcoArt invites several renowned international designers and artists to create the one-of-a kind masterpieces inspired by an endangered bird species, these pieces are then auctioned off and all the proceeds used for humanitarian aid. This year, M.C.L Design will be co-hosting the EcoArt Bijoux Parade launch in Singapore, in presence of H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco and many other VIPs. Taking place on August 20th, 2010, EcoArt International and M.C.L Design cocktail will debut the opulent bijoux collection in Asia.

The M.C.L by Matthew Campbell Laurenza bijoux, “l'Ange de la Forêt” (Angel of the Forest), has been inspired by the distinctive and outstanding Hornbill species and designed with Matthew's unique signature style. Creatively blending classical Art Nouveau influences with modern-day accents, Matthew creates an exuberant and powerful statement neckpiece.

Native to the tropics of Asia, the Hornbill is characterized by its greyish, black plumage, which is typically offset by a long, brightly-coloured bill. Matthew draws from this contrasting colour theme for his own opulent masterpiece. Sculpted with 18K Gold and encrusted with 12 carats of gleaming diamonds, the winged creatures are elegantly complemented with vibrant enamel. Artfully reflecting the natural habitat of the majestic “l'Ange de la Forêt”, the chain is hand-set with 37 carats of alluring sapphires and 33 carats of lush tsavorite garnet. The soaring pavé birds are gracefully fashioned to showcase the flawless, 173 carat royal dark purple Amethyst centerpiece. Found deep in the jungle of Africa, the exquisite natural Amethyst gem adds intoxicating charm to the jewelled necklace.

The necklace will be auctioned in November during the F1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, prominent VVIPs such as H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco and His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al- Nahayan are expected and all proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and the title sponsors’ foundations, The Farjam Collection, Una Energy and an organization from the Emirates.
